Painting has been a passion of mine since I was a senior in high school. Over the last several years I've worked hard to develop my skills, focusing on classical old world styles, but also adding my own personal flair.

My goal is to provide my customers with 100% original, yet affordable, pieces of art that can be passed down from generation to generation. Each piece of art you see in my shop was hand painted by me. I don't duplicate any pieces, so what you buy is truly one-of-a-kind.

About the Artist:
Rob Reep is an emerging artist from South Arkansas. He's had works sold across the country and in galleries as far away as the Western Slope of Colorado. He specializes in landscape art, but has also produced many abstract, impressionists, and portrait pieces.

Artist's Statement:
Working from a small South Arkansas town, my journey to the world of art came somewhat late by most standards. I wasn’t introduced to painting until my senior year of high school, and took four years off during my college years, not putting a brush to canvas even once during that time. Today, being in my late twenties and having taken to the trenches of my small in-home studio for the past several years, I’ve kindled a passion for the fine art of painting through self-instruction.

When I sit before my easel, I paint what I feel. My subjects are diverse and are most definitely driven by my mood. Sometimes I guide my brush methodically to produce a landscape with water crashing over rocks, woodland scenes, mountains soaring in the clouds, or animals in nature. Sometimes, my mind paints and abstract. The subject of the painting dictates what color tones I use. I sometimes choose muted, earthy tones to tell the story. Then there are days I embrace color and create an abstract that conveys a story of mood.

Just as my subjects vary, the medium and techniques I choose also vary. Both oil and acrylics appeal to me. I also paint using a pallet knife as well as brushes. My paintings are often large in scale.

I’ve been influenced by the likes of Winslow Homer, Thomas Moran, and William Henry Powell. My landscape work often takes on a rugged and classical style, and although I occasionally venture into the world of abstracts, my technical skills remain balanced in the wholistic old world painter style. I believe in painting with a sense of quick pace and confidence.
